Say hello to Sky Beam, a creative project by Tom Wardle at Norwich University of the Arts. Tom took on the Sky brief at #NewBloodAwards 2024, with an idea that harnesses the power of mixed reality. Think flat 2D projections that can be beamed anywhere (and viewed from both sides) paired with immersive 3D visuals, rethinking how we experience sports. Add assistive AR glasses into the mix, and you’ve got a personalised, accessible viewing experience that keeps everyone connected.
Sky Beam was a hit with the judges, bagging a Graphite Pencil, the highest level awarded for the Sky brief, and we just loved the inclusive near-future conceptual thinking and immaculate visual design.
