The latest National Student Survey results have delivered awesome news for our team, with all four of our Graphics courses finishing in the university's top five performing courses, with multiple perfect 100% scores - my course, BSc User Experience Design, BA Graphic Communication headed up by Subject Leader Amy Ward, Glen Robinson's BA Design for Publishing, and BA Graphic Design, led by Subject Leader Lucy Blazey. It's an amazing achievement that reflects the collaborative spirit and shared commitment to excellence across our teaching team.
BSc User Experience Design had a remarkable set of results, achieving perfect 100% satisfaction scores across ten different measures. Students gave top marks for staff engagement (Q2), being challenged to achieve their best (Q4), bringing ideas together across topics (Q7), timely feedback (Q13), all three resource questions (Q15-17), staff valuing their opinions (Q23), and freedom to express ideas (Q27). With additional scores of 91% for intellectual stimulation and exploring ideas in depth, it's clear that our UX students feel genuinely supported and stretched in their learning.
BA Graphic Communication demonstrated outstanding consistency, achieving 100% for skills building on knowledge (Q6) and feedback improving work (Q14). The course scored 97% for developing future-ready skills (Q9) and 96-97% across staff explanation, marking clarity, and course organisation.
BA Design for Publishing achieved 100% satisfaction across five measures, including staff explanation (Q1), intellectual stimulation (Q3), marking clarity (Q10), and course organisation (Q17). Students also rated timely feedback at 96% and developing future skills at 92%.
BA Graphic Design led by Lucy Blazey rounded out our top five presence with 100% for students being challenged to achieve their best (Q4) and 97% for both marking clarity (Q10) and developing knowledge for the future (Q9). The course achieved 94% for feedback improving work and 90% for intellectual stimulation.
Our four courses benefit from a shared pool of dedicated teaching staff who bring consistency, expertise, and care to every student interaction. This team effort shines through in the data - the rigour of our assessment practices, the quality of our feedback, and the supportive studio culture we've built.
